Governance
RCNA is governed by a 12 member Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors is comprised of:
- one registered nurse member from each state and territory (8)
- one enrolled nurse (1)
- two external directors (2)
- the Chief Executive Officer of RCNA (1)
The nurses are elected via a vote of the total membership. The external directors are appointed annually by the Board of Directors.
The term of office is four years with a right to re-stand for a further four years. The office bearers - President, Vice President and Treasurer - are elected from within the Board.
The Board sets the strategic direction for RCNA, appoints the Chief Executive Officer and oversees the ongoing financial viability of the organisation.
