RCNA is inviting nursing students across the country to take up a free offer of membership, as part of the organisation’s push to engage with nurses from the beginning of their careers. RCNA believes the new generation of nurses have a lot to offer the organisation, and is keen to tap into their energy and invite them to be a part of Australia’s peak professional nursing organisation.

Who can apply for complimentary student membership with RCNA?
First or second year undergraduate degree students studying nursing at an approved Australian higher education institution or first year diploma students studying nursing at an approved Australian vocational education institution are eligible for complimentary membership. Masters entry degree nursing students and midwifery students are also eligible.

All first year nursing students eligible for this initiative will receive:
- RCNA Student Membership Card with access to Member Advantage benefits
- access to RCNA’s Life Long Learning Program (3LP)
- an online subscription to Nursing Review, a monthly national nursing newspaper
- a subscription to NurseClick, RCNA’s online nursing and health care newsletter
- access to a variety of networking and learning opportunities through RCNA’s Student National Network
Second year nursing students will also receive:
- access to research, learning, networking and development opportunities through RCNA faculties
Third year undergraduate degree nursing students and second year diploma nursing students
A reduced membership rate is available for 3rd year undergraduate degree nursing students and 2nd year diploma nursing students who can provide evidence to validate their studies. A reduced membership rate is available for post graduate nursing students who are members and who can provide evidence to validate their studies.
