Aged Care Scholarship Scheme - undergraduate
Overview
The Aged Care Nursing Scholarship Scheme is an Australian Government initiative aimed at encouraging more people to enter aged care nursing, particularly in regional, rural and remote Australia.
Application Dates
The Aged Care Scholarship Scheme - undergraduate is now closed. All applicants will be notified of the outcome by mid December 2009.

The 2009 aged care Undergraduate applications have now closed.
Value of scholarship
The Scheme provides financial assistance of up to $5,000 per semester, to a maximum of $30,000 per applicant, to assist in meeting costs incurred while studying undergraduate nursing. Scholarships will be available to students in any year of an undergraduate nursing degree.
Criteria
The scholarships are only available for courses leading to a qualification to practice as a Registered/Division 1 nurse. Up to 10 of these scholarships are designated for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants.
In order to be considered for the scholarship you must be currently enrolled or intending to enrol in an undergraduate, accredited, pre-registration (entry to practice) nursing course at an Australian university
OR
Currently enrolled or intending to enrol in a graduate entry, accredited, pre-registration (entry to practice) nursing course at an Australian university
OR
Currently enrolled or intending to enrol in the Masters of Nursing Program at an Australian University, leading to first-time registration as a Registered/Division 1 nurse.
Preference is given to applicants living and working in regional, rural and remote areas who can demonstrate a commitment to aged care. Applicants living in metropolitan areas with an aged care background are also encouraged to apply.
