Mission Statement
To benefit the health of the community through promotion and recognition of professional excellence in nursing.
Aim
To further increase our membership and raise awareness among all nurses of the key professional issues affecting nursing in Australia today.
Objectives
Our objectives are to cultivate and maintain the highest principles of nursing by:
- Enhancing nursing career path development;
- Disseminating information to members on issues of significance to nursing and health;
- Providing and facilitating professional development in the areas of clinical practice, administration, education and research;
- Identifying and examining issues and problems relevant to nursing practice and the health of the community;
- Advising Commonwealth and State/Territory Governments and other authorities on professional nursing and health issues;
- Acting as a resource at National and State levels by fullfilling an advisory role and providing a consultative service;
- Initiating research to seek solutions to those issues and problems;
- Taking action on problems and issues of significance to nursing in particular and the health of the community in general; and
- Promoting growth in our organisation.

- Strengthening the position of the College as a leading professional, national and international nursing organisation;
- Providing leadership in the promotion of excellence in the continuing professional development of nurses;
- Strengthening the national operations, governance and management of the College;
