Royal College of Nursing, Australia (RCNA) Scholarships

National Research and Scholarship Fund

Funded and administered through Royal College of Nursing, Australia (RCNA).

The RCNA National Research and Scholarship Fund (NRSF), is designed to assist registered nurses to undertake both tertiary and/or postgraduate education, training and/or research activities. There are eight separate scholarships that may be available under this scheme, each with their own set of criteria and guidelines as well as different selection processes. All scholarships listed below may not be offered each year.

1. Annie M Sage Memorial Scholarship For postgraduate research studies in nursing at an Australian University

2. Joyce Wickham Memorial Scholarship For doctoral studies in nursing at an Australian University

3. Myrtle Ivy Quicke Memorial Scholarship For doctoral or postdoctoral studies in nursing at an Australian University

4. Florence Nightingale Memorial Scholarship
For doctoral or postdoctoral studies in an Australian higher education institution

5. Bequest Fund for Research (Victoria only)
For postgraduate research studies in nursing at an Australian University and only for nurses practicing in Victoria. Nurses engaged in clinical research are particularly encouraged to apply

6. Centaur Nurses Memorial Education Scholarship (Victoria only) For postgraduate research studies in nursing at an Australian University and only for Division 1 and 3 nurses practicing in Victoria

7. Queensland Nursing Scholarship: Sister Margaret Y Winning (Queensland only)
For postgraduate studies in nurse education at Queensland University of Technology only

8. New South Wales Nurses Research Grant
For postgraduate studies in (clinical) nursing at an Australian University and only for nurses practicing in NSW

In order to be eligible to receive these scholarships must be registered nurses who are Members/Fellows of the Royal College of Nursing, Australia. Applicants are also to be aware that some of the scholarships available are state specific, and may not be offered every year.
